have i told you that i work at a botanical garden? have the day off of work today because of the aftermath of those infamous rains... which have caused about 10 trees to go belly-up. gardens were without power on monday. (a 140 acre botanical garden is really the WRONG place to work if the elements are angry, believe you me!). the return to work will be unpleasant, everyone is now behind schedule, the plants are all a mess. are you jealous yet?
down the block from my apartment there is a huge tree that shimmied into a 6 lane road and blocked about 50% of it! they have been working all day on removing it and the mud.
this apartment in on a hillside, so I have been praying that we don't all slip away!!!
mancub is at MACWORLD in San Fran today, lucky duck. however, methinks this puts him in the position to bring me back a new computer!!! sure... whimper, whimper.
on another note, is anyone getting decent produce at regular grocery stores anymore? everything bought at normal stores go "WONK". i.e.: the only decent oranges are from whole foods. apples are meally everywhere but whole foods. ugg.
can i have a witness that the sun will shine again??? AMEN! and to illustrate, here is the view from my apartment:
