worked all weekend with LITTLE TO SHOW FOR IT. when seeking the solution to a problem, there is no guarantee when you will find it... so one may work 16 hours and have nothing in your sweaty lil' paws at the end. today went better- i found several workable solutions to the problem. re-purposing. the name of this game is: re-purposing. df:an item is made for one application but you can adapt it for another more "fraudulent" purpose. you should know this about me: i used to be a display artist and window dresser. my favorite trips were to the hardware stores. besides loving the smell of cut lumber and sweaty men, i loved "re-purposing" things... taking dryer hoses and filling them with twinkle lights and arranging them in the window. taking metal pipes and vice grips and making a clothing display. when guys in the hardware store try to wait on you they get REALLY CONFUSED!!! anyway - - i need to make a botanical specimen display that meets a bunch of peculiar requirements and i think i found my solution by re-purposing a unusually designed (drumroll, please)... menorah! oy gevalt! will i end up accounting for this in some eternal way??? am i defiling a religious object?or is it okay because it will bring an end to my kvetching?! |
