chris rock has said some VERY derogatory stuff about sound designers - so a bunch of the people in mancub's industry are on the defensive. if chris rock says anything stupid about sound designers- it will not be pretty at our house. they have brought it to chris' attention that he better lay off, so we will see if he is smart enough to modify.

UPDATE- we have not seen the whole Oscars, but we just heard randy thom's acceptance speech. he did a GREAT job, by saying that even tho the sound awards are technical awards- they are given for artistic decisions- and he got ROUSING applause.

i think that the industry is growing in their understanding of the sound design artform. so, if chris rock being an a-hole helped people to think about the art of sound design- so much the better!
