2004-01-06 - ANTISOCIAL

here sits the sad lil' employee. staying late to cover a mistake that was made (not mine, might we add, if ever-so-delicately?). students may show up due to grave error of administration. dark & cold underworld here. cold, misty, black as pitch. oh!

so, which students of the 22 possible show up? only 2 lonely middle-aged women. interesting.

but i stay past the time i need to... because i realize that i do NOT HAVE MY FRONT DOOR KEY. mancub will have to come to retrieve the poor lil' employee, oh, say AN HOUR FROM NOW. GDMT.

better than sitting outside of our apartment in the cold, listening to sam yoller from the other side of the door.

this week is off to a GREAT START!

but, there is ample time to blog....

have a new mini-obsession. very embarassed about it, really. particularly after reading that: "this appeals to girls 13-26 year old". haaheem. gulp. do you know how to say "arrested development"?

it is emily the strange.

the graphics are stark. today, the compelling thing about emily is she is a raw honest girl who is very unconcerned with what people think of her. most girls are so painfully aware of approval- this has been discussed in this blog before. so emily hangs out with cats and is strong and has mysterious adventures and weird orientations and wants people to bugger off.

with no orientation toward antisocial behaviour, she really has me hooked. she is a shadowy figure that would never get to hang out around here.

sometimes you just have to get in the opposite zone and think about what works there and what fails.

recall reading that creative people are usually men, because men care less about gaining approval... and that is what it takes to be creative in terms of taking chances and giving something new to the universe. recall feeling desire to care less to be more creative.

Q: "how's that going for you?"

A: nosogood.

try to get a bit weirder, less predictable, have a few secrets, make a shockwave or two... but all for the sake of putting something creative together, to give more life, more options, more hope (in a random sorta way).

emily is an icon that will garner reflection for a few days, week, or months. she will give a framework and a platform to say a few things, do a few things.

and isn't that a good thing?

on another note, our hair is growing and we discover that our hairs look like a blond-red version of an emily haircut. only, this was not our intent. so we are suprised to make this discovery.

how do you think that happened? by chance or design?

hair destiny?
