certain persons can occupy a very special place in our hearts. the mystery is about how special they are, really. no other person can take the spot they occupy. this person is a beautiful, unique, and perplexing creature that has taken over a little nook in my chest and will not seem to vacate the premesis. that's really okay with me!

endearing. that is the word. i have been endeared.

"the little prince" by antoine de saint-exupery has a great section on the little prince and the fox. the fox brings up the idea that it would be great if the little prince "tamed" him. he even coaches the little prince on how to tame another creature.

this person has tamed a part of me that has never been tamed by anyone else.
