we are going to the museum of jurassic technology today... i will report on our findings later... stay tuned!

HERE IS MY ESSAY- WHAT I DID WITH # HOURS ON A SUNDAY

the museum of jurassic technology (MJT) is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and the public appreciation of the lower jurassic. the point being that none of us know what the lower jurassic or its technology is. the museum takes you from familiar objects toward the unfamiliar guided along, as it were, a chain of flowers into the mysteries of life.

most of my pics did not turn out well because i did not want to use flash & i did not use my tripod... but here is a taste of the surreal place that is MJT

curator David Wilson plays with our understanding of what a museum is and has collected the seminal works of artists, scientists, theorists and lunatics and fictional characters whose work has been ignored, marginalised or dismissed as eccentric. a commentary of museums, collections, lasting memory and knowledge. the age of magic, the age of reason. hmmm. fact or fiction together. i could keep describing it but that would never do it justice. it is an experience.

if you ever get over to culver city (near LAX) and if you are at least a tad wacked or demented, this is the place for you! actually it is a great place for playing with your perceptions, understanding truth, cultural development... i'd say it was a sociological study as much as anything science or technical. and, there was the element of serendipity. you have to go, it cannot be described!
